PLASTIC TSUNAMI

ART PRODUCTION AND SCENOGRAPHY

Prototype development, coordination, and production of an installation by artivist Mundano, in collaboration with Pimp My Carroça, Coletivo Flutua, Maré de Mudanças, Oceana, and a support team formed by waste picker cooperatives from São Paulo, who contributed to both material collection and construction. Entirely made from discarded materials—including walls, flooring, counterweights, info totems, and even the soundtrack—the inflatable structure debuted at the Zero Waste Cities Congress in Brasília. It highlighted issues raised in PL 2524/2022 regarding plastic consumption and waste, while amplifying the voices of waste workers who fight for visibility and better waste management across Latin America. The project gained significant media attention, including live coverage on Globo DF, front-page features in Folha de S. Paulo, Globo.com, SBT, Agência Brasil, Poder360, and international outlets.
